Thunderbird 1.5.0.1ubu crashes after sending a mail

Compose a mail, hit send and the mail is delivered then thunderbird immediately crashes and disappears without trace. This has been happening ever since the recent "upgrade" pushed out by Ubuntu - it was fine before that (don't recall the previous version)

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 or 9.04? Have you tried Fabien Tassin's ppa deb of TB 3.0?
