3)in lock screen it is expected to have:
day(weekday)-number(day of month)-month e.g. Friday 2 September (in greek Παρασκευή 2 Σεπτεμβρίου)

4)instead we see: day-month-number e.g. Friday September 2 (Παρασκευή Σεπτεμβρίου 2)

Using en_AU here and I can confirm that gnome-shell just seems to make its own date format. It's nothing like the locale definition, which you can see by running:

locale d_fmt
locale date_fmt

So we can't automatically get a right answer.
