.pot file isn't generated on build time

Bug Description

The .pot file should be generated on build time, but it isn't. This application is in main and it does need translations (libavahi-ui0 even has some default menu entries).

While fixing this please also cherry-pick these three diffs from avahi's bugtracker to make .desktop files translatable http://avahi.org/ticket/200
