Bug Description
Synaptics touchpad don't work well (two-fingers tap, scroll) with Hardy Heron Alpha5 LiveCD. In Gutsy Gibbon LiveCD works well out of the box.
dmesg and Xorg.log from both versions are attached lower.

I can confirm that. My touchpad (Synaptics) does also not offer scrolling, but worked on Gutsy. Also the xorg.conf does not include the touchpad (as far as i know all the xorg.conf - structure has benn remodeled?). But where is it configured now? As far as i know the SHMConfig-Option should be enabled...
Kubuntu-KDE4 Hardy input/devices | grep Touch
cat /proc/bus/
gives:
N: Name="SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad"
