Empathy stills in heavy development and has a small user base. Most people use it for testing purpose.

ubuntu mobile uses a separate package of empathy, the upstream code isn't the same.

Is it needed to have this package at all then? Do we need two empathy
packages with the attendant maintenance burder?

moblin-chat is a modified version of empathy to work better with touchscreens. I think it's droped now and ubuntu mobile uses pidgin instead.

Guessing that it has a new SONAME from the build logs, but no rdepends outside of source package for the library package. Hence I'm ok with it as well. Please go ahead.
