Bug Description

Images from some sites (such as guardian.co.uk) are rendered poorly. They are pixelated and very low res. this was not a problem using FF2 or using the Konqs.

This started happening for me, too, once I updated to FF3b4 in Hardy. Attachments forthcoming.

The problem is visible on nearly every web site I go to.

This was not the case for FF3b3.

Notice the obvious, plus the Google Reader logo.

Notice today's Google logo appearing pixelated. The normal Google logo appears this way, as well.

Are these pages "zoomed"? Remember that now Firefox zooms images along with text which can lead to certain images appearing jagged. In other words, does Ctrl+0 fix it?

For now, anyway. Why would FF have been zooming everything by default? That is awfully strange behavior.

Zooming out does render the pictures ok, but, the text is then too small.

Why does it do this by default? As it is I am left with the choice of bad images-good txt or good images-small txt.

Can I change this behaviour?

You can reset the zoom using Ctrl+0. That means that the image will be their correct size. If you want to zoom text but not images, View > Zoom > Text Only.

Not a bug, should've been closed a while back.
