Bug Description

When I try to play a video with totem it either crashes or hangs my display (mouse cursor still moves but nothing else works and I have to reboot). The crash is inside nouveau drivers, so this may be a nouveau bug rather than a totem bug. I can't report it with ubuntu-bug because of bug 1983481. I did manage to capture a stack trace with gdb, which I've attached.

That's a very old problem with nouveau... I would recommend opening the Additional Drivers app and installing a proprietary Nvidia driver instead.

Welp, I had disabled the proprietary nvidia driver because I use a DisplayLink hub and DisplayLink was really unhappy about nvidia, but I just tried it again with the current nvidia driver and it appears to be working at least for the time being, so I'll stick with that for a while and we'll see what happens.
