can't drag bookmark folders from menu to toolbar

Folders are unable to be dragged from the bookmark toolbar menu in firefox. Ordinary bookmarks can be dragged fine.

steps to reproduce:
* click on Bookmarks in the main toolbar to open the menu
* attempt to drag a bookmark folder to the "bookmarks toolbar"
expected result: folder is moved to bookmarks toolbar
actual result: folder cannot be dragged at all

Dragging ordinary bookmarks to the bookmarks toolbar works as expected.

I can drag bookmarks from the bookmark toolbar to the page area. However, firefox freezes the whole desktop for about 1 min before loading the webpage and allowing the desktop to unfreeze.

It is the same behaviour than on firefox 2.0.0.12 on gutsy... so it might be the usual way ?

I use an old laptop (Pentium 3 with 196MB RAM). Dell Inspiron 4000.
kernel is 2.6.24-23-generic #1 SMP Mon Jan 26 00:13:11 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux.

I experience the same problem as Ralph Janke reported. When i try to move a folder in the Bookmarks menu by clicking it, holding it and dragging it, the whole desktop freezes. I can not close the program, start another program or shutdown the laptop. The mouse pointer turns to different one (a plus sign or something) and can be moved. The only thing that works is Ctrl+Alt+F1/F7/F8. I go to shell by Ctrl+Alt+F1, login, kill firefox process, log out and come back by pressing Ctrl+Alt+F8. Then I restart the Firefox to continue working. I experienced it a few times.

George please report a new bug and post to a closed one that might or might not be related. If you have the feeling you know a duplicate open a new bug anyway and add the bug you think it is in your bug report. the triagers will then verify that and mark as dupe if appropriate.
