Nouveau is still very far behind proprietary nvidia driver. So this is kinda expected.

I switched to Nouveau driver because i had some temperature events where one of the two indicators drove up to 100°C and remained there for minutes.

Now I have reverted back to nVidia and after restart I get again the blinking cursor at startup, no way to come into the login screen.

Any clues how I could solve this without doing a fresh install?*

*on two machines, any time I faced this issue I could only do a new install.

Maybe `sudo ubuntu-drivers install`?

I fear I do not even get to that point.
As said: blinking cursor.
The black screen is a well known issue with NVIDIA drivers on Ubuntu.

Not sure exactly what I did, but managed to restore Nvidia drivers, restart the system, and after a while the system will go into suspend mode, maybe through updates.
