Metadaten - Comments will not be saved

Hello,

I got a problem.
I changed some Metadatas in my playlist.
Some datas like interpret, Titel, Year etc. are changed correctly.
Only Comments will be unchanged unfortunately.

I use new version 2.3.3 (same Problem in Version 2.3.2 before)
Windows 11, German (same problem in Windows 10)

Would you please check it ?

Which file format? Which external applications do you use?

This is probably not an issue of Mixxx, but of a 3rd party application that doesn't handle multiple COMM frames with different descriptions (MP3/ID3v2) correctly.

Similar issue for Ogg/FLAC files with COMMENT (recommended) vs. DESCRIPTION (legacy) fields.

I don't know if I understand you right in all positions.

Which file format ?
If you mean my music files, there are all MP3

In your program description you describe the changebility of Metadatas.
In your eMail you said, it is not the issue of MIXXX.

Then why can I change some data and some not?
The program can read comments. Changing in MIXXX is also allowed.
Only the comments are not saved.
Sorry, but I think it's just a bug in the program.

Please try it by yourself, I am sure you have a windows PC for testing.

At all I am very happy with MIXXX functionalities.
As I found out the changebility for Metadatas, I thought that's all I
need ...

How do you change track metadata in Mixxx?
* inline in the library table?
* in the Track Porperties dialog?

How is the change not applied? Like, does it not show up if you
* press Return in the table to finish editing?
* if you hit Apply in the Properties dialog?

Hello Ronso,

normaly I changed datas in playlist or Auto-DJ Folder.
That's why I can see all my needed mp3 files in my next music session.

Yes, I finish edition with return.
In my example you can see my Comment: "Island In The Stream"
After this, I opened file-properties:

But in File browser ist is not be saved

The same, after i closed MIXXX.

Alright, that makes a lot more sense now.

You did enable "Synchronize library track metadata from/to file tags" in Preferences > Library ?
If yes, this is a bug.
If not, do so and also read the popup note about.
