Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please try to obtain a backtrace following the instructions at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash and upload the backtrace (as an attachment) to the bug report. This will greatly help us in tracking down your problem.

Also, are there any predictable steps to reproduce this? I've been having random crashes on Banshee but have been unsuccessful in getting a reproducible cause.

It's actually a preference whether to iconify on close. Are there any reproducible steps for this problem? I haven't encountered it myself, but I'm wondering if there's something I could do to test it out. If we can reproduce it, we can file a bug upstream too.

(Also, soxs, an strace isn't useful--at least to me--but could you follow the instructions here to get a good backtrace? http://banshee-project.org/Debugging. And if you have some steps to reproduce the problem, I could try to get one too. :)

As soon as I get another mobo (which recently died) I will debug banshee in order to find the bug.
To reproduce the crash, I do not have to do anything special. I just start and wait some seconds till fully loaded (no need to play anything) and close it. After about 5 to 10s a popup gets focused: Unexpected exit (or similar, using locale de_de)
