[SRU] Crash on window close -- Stable Release Update possible?

Hi everyone, there is a bug in vtk9, see here for details: https://gitlab.kitware.com/vtk/vtk/-/issues/18372
In short, the program crashes under certain circumstances when the window is closed. The problem is fixed upstream, affected VTK versions are 9.0.2, 9.0.3, and 9.1.0. Affected Ubuntu versions are jammy and kinetic (both 9.1.0). Would it be possible to release a fix for these two Ubuntu versions? My suggestion would be to apply a subset of the changes of this merge request: https://gitlab.kitware.com/vtk/vtk/-/merge_requests/9026/diffs (a subset that doesn't break API or ABI, I can create a patch if you like).

Now, in order to get them accepted, please
1) test them

Please do not upload until the SRU information is present. Otherwise an SRU member has to check in to see whether it's been done *on every shift* and this is a waste of time. Right now the majority of my SRU review time seems to be being spent on SRUs that are not ready, and the queues are large :-(
