Error in dmesg when loading ath9k wireless driver

The following message appears in dmesg whenever the ath9k driver is loaded on my machine. There are significant performance problems with the wireless under load (frequently disconnecting and reconnecting to the network, dropped packets, etc). Unloading the wireless modules (via "rmmod ath9k ath9k_common ath9k_hw ath mac80211 cfg80211") and reloading it helps for a few minutes.
