Touchpad not working in Acer Spin 5, pci=nocrs freezes at boot

After upgrade to 22.04, touchpad in Acer Spin 5 no longer works.

Up to 21.10, and kernels 5.13, adding pci=nocrs to boot options was needed to enable the touchpad and touchscreen. With the upgrade to 22.04, there is still no touchpad or touchscreen without pci=nocrs but now this boot option prevents booting with the error message:
xhci_hcd 0000:00:14.0: can't setup: -12
xhci_hcd 0000:00:14.0: init 0000:00:14.0 fail, -12

Rolling back to kernel 5.13, the pci=nocrs boot parameter restores the touchpad and touchscreen.
