BadRequest (invalid request code or no such operation)

Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-settings-daemon

Installed: 2.21.91-0ubuntu5 (hardy)

$ gnome-settings-daemon --sync --> stdout.txt
The program 'gnome-settings-daemon' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadRequest (invalid request code or no such operation)'.
  (Details: serial 128 error_code 1 request_code 151 minor_code 6)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
   that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
   To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
   option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
   backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

My desktop currently has no theme and looks like a "default" gnome (eg: lots of gray, blue titles bars, gnome icons, plain font, etc)

This happened after an update.

Hi,

I believe this is the same error as bug #197153.

You can disable the xranr plugin in gconf as specified in that
report.

Thanks,

James
