Model: Huawei E303

It seems that the problem is related to the chosen connection manager, with pppd the app opens allowing to send messages and USSD codes but it does not have support to manage internet connections, and if I choose the Network Manager the app just closes

Ohh, I must confess that I have stolen the package from Debian. I know, it is not advised to use Debian packages for Ubuntu, but it worked without any problems.

I remember now, it is a year ago, I found this notice:

 on 2022-08-03
Changed in modem-manager-gui (Debian):
status: New → Fix Released

so I checked Debian an used the package. On my last comment I was confused, I thought Ubuntu had meanwhile upstreamed that package.

But then you don't run Ubuntu version 22.04? Because with this so called "fixed" version there are dependencies which are not fullfilled with version Ubuntu 22.04.

BTW which version has your NetworkManager?

I'm joining the request. Ubuntu 22.04 with latest updates:

$ apt list --installed | grep modem-manager-gui

modem-manager-gui-help/jammy,jammy,now 0.0.20-3 all [instalado, automático]
modem-manager-gui/jammy,now 0.0.20-3 amd64 [instalado]

I'd like to use the connection manager from modem-manager-gui instead of Ubuntu's since I'm using alternative X managers, some very rustic with (almost) no gui, so I can't control network manager that easy.

If there's no plan to include the fix in 22.04, what official PPA should I subscribe to? Thanks
