Bug Description
Using Kubuntu 7.10 on my Toshiba Satellite A200 with HDA-Intel audio.
After installing ALSA dirver 1.0.16 compiled by myself, sound card started behaving better: mic and headphones, sound volume wheel and mute button recognized and working well (before they not). But other programs started working bad:
Skype hangs on logging in (when it should play login sound) as well as wine programs start to load then they disappear (note that notepad that doesn't need sound works). If I open Ksysguard before starting one of these programs it works. If I open it after opening such programs it opens a white window without processes. Also trying to open other programs after these software have hanged doesn't work (Xmoto for example didn't start too).
Keeping KSysGuard open before starting Skyipe or wine I can see their processes working in background even if they are not visible on screen, but if i try to kill their processes they don't die (neither with kill command). If I try to turn off my laptop it hangs on "stopping k display manager: kdm" forever. Doing '/etc/init.
