Bug Description

When I try and start Gnome Control Center it silently crashes before showing anything.

Doing it from the terminal gives the following output:

troels@troels-desktop:~$ gnome-control-center
gnome-control-center: symbol lookup error: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libwebkit2gtk-4.0.so.37: undefined symbol: gst_codec_utils_caps_get_mime_codec

The issue is due to an outdated custom version being installed in /usr/local and taking over the system on

 libgstapp-1.0.so.0 => /usr/local/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgstapp-1.0.so.0 (0x00007fcdcc7f6000)

cleaning /usr/local/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgst* should fix the issue

Oh I am so sorry for wasting your time. But thank you so much nevertheless for helping me with finding a solution. I did try to reinstall gstreamer without success using apt, but this will probably fix it.
I completely forgot that I at some point needed an at that time newer version of gstreamer than what was available in the repositories.
