Bug Description

I have a laptop with integrated graphics
- Indel HD 5000
- Amd radeon r5 m430

When I run any game using dedicated graphics, it just freezes, freezing my whole system
When I switch to tty4, it spams this -
```
    radeon 0000:0a:00.0: ring 0 stalled for more than 11228msec
```
and I can't login in tty4, back to tty1 I forcefully kill the game and it becomes fine sometimes, else need a hard reboot to fix(the reboot button or sudo reboot doesn't work as well)

I have this problem since updating to ubuntu 21.10, it was fine in ubuntu 20.04 LTS

I tried switching to oibaf drivers but it didn't help. I have same issue with it as well

Please let me know which logs will be helpful and how can I grab

here is journal log - https://pastebin.com/GgtpXgqC

and dmesg log - https://pastebin.com/TeTzVkzw

Ubuntu Kernel Bot (ubuntu-kernel-bot) wrote : Missing required logs.

This bug is missing log files that will aid in diagnosing the problem. While running an Ubuntu kernel (not a mainline or third-party kernel) please enter the following command in a terminal window:

apport-collect 1970048

and then change the status of the bug to 'Confirmed'.

If, due to the nature of the issue you have encountered, you are unable to run this command, please add a comment stating that fact and change the bug status to 'Confirmed'.

This change has been made by an automated script, maintained by the Ubuntu Kernel Team.

Hey, I am also experiencing this bug and wondered if you ever found a fix for it?

I believe that I have found several cases across a few forums and posts relating to the same issue, around the same time as your post.

https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=275422
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2012467
https://www.reddit.com/r/archlinux/comments/12v8eop/amd_gpu_problem_r5_m430/?rdt=44425

The last two sources attribute the crashes to a problem with dpm, although a few "fixes" are seen on the reddit post. Other than that really there isn't much else in terms of how to resolve this issue besides underclocking the GPU or disabling DPM

Nope, so far no fix for it. It's surely a kernel issue but I lost hope of it being fixed. And the fixes on the reddit post (which is rebuilding the kernel) is hard for me to do since it's my primary machine and I try to avoid tinkering down to kernel level

I tried latest mainline kernel, things have been better with it (the games kinda run, gpu does reset and restarts sometimes and things start working) but that's it. No proper solution, the problem still exists

Again the people on reddit said the issue is because the hp varient of gpu only supports 900mhz clock speed instead of 1030(which is listed in the wikipedia page of amdgpus) which is causing the problem. So essentially rebuilding to underclock to the 900mhz below mark should get things to work but it's not something I can try right now

Edit: I booted windows and checked for max frequencies using cpuid app.. And the max frequencies goto 1030mhz as mentioned in amdgpu wikipedia page. So its not caused by mismatched frequency. And with that out of the way I have no idea what's causing it.
