Bug Description

While in GDM, tapping on the track-pad don't generate al "click". After logon, tap to click can be configured and works, but only in established user session. There is no no way to configure it for login manager GDM.

There are laptop track-pads without mechanical buttons, so this feature is needed for a good user experience.

I found this workaround:

1. Create file: /usr/share/gdm/dconf/01-tap-to-click

2. Contents:
[org/gnome/desktop/peripherals/touchpad]
tap-to-click=true

3. Restart GDM or restart computer.

Ubuntu should provide this file or offer a more friendly GUI for this.

I fully agree and have been meaning to report this bug for several cycles. Default GNOME/libinputa doesn't enable tap-to-click, but Ubuntu does for the GNOME desktop, and therefore it should also for GDM.

(And thanks for the easy workaround in the meantime!)
