Bug Description

The bug is very easy to reproduce, and it is happening on the just released kubuntu 22.04 LTS beta.
It probably happens on older versions too, but i didn't check them.

Just install the "plasma-workspace-wayland" package with apt, logout and switch to wayland.
Then run "kubuntu-driver-manager" with the terminal or clicking "Driver Manager" in the settings.
It errors out saying: "qt.qpa.xcb: could not connect to display :0".

The problem can be solved by commenting out "export DISPLAY=:0" in "/usr/bin/kubuntu-driver-manager", although it's probably just a hack.
