Still affecting today's ISO. I also note that I do not ever see the installer timezone page.

Rik had mentioned not seeing the timezone window and I also saw this when running ubiquity with --debug.

Currently still in proposed pocket, so unavailable, due to large test queues

Same problem for me with the iso downloaded 26 March 2022 from the http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/kubuntu/daily-live/current/jammy-desktop-amd64.iso site using zsync and a previously downloaded iso version as input file.

It gets to 33% installed and freezes at that point going no further however long I leave it.

This problem was reported also in the bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1963697 but deemed to be different from that with request to report separately.

As already stated, the bug has a fix committed to -proposed, but will
take some time to get to the daily ISO builds. This will happen one way
or another for the Beta later in the week.

It IS a different issue, but related to an error in the fix for the
other bug.

My version was downloaded

and it fails with encrypted/unencrypted partitions of various types, including XFS, btrfs, swap.

A comment on useability:
Currently all the status output of the disk manipulation attempts is filtered into a single line on the bottom of the user interface. While more visually appealing when successful, in cases of problems like this the user has no information to diagnose the problem. Users have wasted hours trying different permutations before realizing it is not their fault.

Question: I understand it will take a few days, but when the daily ISO is fixed, how will we find out (so we don't have to try them all?)

http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/kubuntu/daily-live/current/jammy-desktop-amd64.manifest

contains a list of included packages and their versions. The fixed ISO
would have ubiquity 22.04.9 instead of the broken ubiquity 22.04.8

This bug was fixed in the package ubiquity - 22.04.9

---------------
ubiquity (22.04.9) jammy; urgency=medium

  * There was one fix too many in the previous changes to the Kubuntu frontend
which resulted in the Timezone map not displaying which then caused the
installation process to hang. (LP: #1966204)
