Confirmed this, kaffeine in -backports replaces kaffeine-xine.

Kubuntu-desktop now reccomends kaffeine.

Shouldn't the kaffeine "Provide" kaffeine-xine in circumstances like this?

Hmm the one seems to Replace:/Conflict: kaffeine-xine... I think we should version the Replace/Conflict line in Hardy, and also add a Provides: kaffeine-xine?

Shouldn't be an issue anymore in Karmic, plus Gutsy has fallen out of support.
