ever since i downloaded ubuntu 7 10 my comp keeps freezing do i need to go back to 4 help!

Same problem as above. It's very random and there's nothing logged as for all intents and purposes nothing is wrong except that the screen freezes and the mouse can actually be moved around as per this post: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=642488

Reloading the desktop fixes the problem (until next time).

As per my post (http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=4320059&postcount=839) I uninstalled and purged PowerNowd which seemed to have worked for a few weeks until I turned on my monitor this morning and was faced with the above problem.

I never encountered this current problem (bug) in Ubuntu/Kubuntu 7.04.

I use Kubuntu 7.10; a clean install (on a desktop).
