Bug Description
My laptop is docked with the lid closed and connected to 2 external monitors. After upgrading a bunch of packages from jammy in the last 24 hours I notice that when logging in, both of my external monitors just show the purple background whilst the login dialog was actually displayed on the closed lid of my laptop.
Wasn't sure if this should be filed against some other package as it doesn't look like gnome-shell or gdm3 have changed lately (I only see gnome-shell-

It sounds like you have discovered an old bug 1760849.
Although it also sounds like that bug was previously hidden for you and only revealed by a recent bug 1962276.
