TPAC and BOOPAC
When you use the Browse the Catalog function in the public catalogue for a subject the counts beside the different subjects aren't accurate when there are more than 100 records with the particular subject.
In the TPAC the count seems to always display as (100) if there are more than 100 records with the subject.
In the BOOPAC what displays for the count appears to be random (though usually a number in the 90s).
A selection of my testing on our test system using BOOPAC:
Astronomy (99) - actually 2465 records
Cats (95) - actually 836 records
Dogs (97) - actually 1364 records
Earth (95) - actually 348 records
Earth & Environmental Sciences (100) - actually 348 records
Moon (98) - actually 204 records
Planets (99) - actually 355 records
Rabbits (99) - actually 260 records
Trees (99) - actually 432 records
When I did the same searches in the new staff catalogue it always returned a count of (100) beside all the above subjects.
I can't see a pattern for what number gets displayed compared to how many records there actually are. In all of my testing I never saw a three or four digit number displayed in the browse results.
