Bug Description

I upgraded a computer running Ubuntu 18.04 with AMD ATI RS482/RS485 Radeon Xpress 1100/1150 without problem. After upgrade to 20.04, resolution is virtual size of 1400x1050 which doesn't fit in screen.

With 18.04 I had in xorg.o.log

Xorg's radeon module unloaded because you have disabled the radeon hardware with the 'nomodeset' kernel parameter. You need to remove that. Make sure you're not accidentally booting in recovery mode.

Hi Daniel. Without the nomodeset kernel parameter, the graphical screen is blinking and unusable. In logs I have RADEON: Setting screen physical size to 508 x 285. In console mode it's OK.

while that problem is happening. If you can't do so while the problem is happening then do so after it has happened and collect a log:

  journalctl -b-1 > prevboot.txt

and attach it to the new bug.
