Bug Description

A complete shutdown of the laptop occurs only with the help of the shutdown button. If this is not done, then the keyboard backlight and fans work, and the screen itself is turned off. And also the sleep mode does not work (black screen and no reaction), you have to turn it off with a button to get out of it. The problem has been observed since ubuntu version 20.04 and the BIOS update. These problems are not observed in Windows OS. The video card is no longer displayed as nvidia in both operating systems, now it is displayed only asMesa Intel® UHD Graphics 630 (CFL GT2).
I didn't reboot myself before, apparently the kernel was fixed. Thanks to the developers, that now he at least reboots himself. It remains to solve the issue with the shutdown.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

An important fact on this issue: when booting from a USB flash drive with the image 20.04 in demo mode, the system itself shut down without any problems and turned off completely (when pressing the corresponding function, not the shutdown button). The state of the system at the time of the experiment: the OEM core 18.04 is installed.

But, as previously reported, when the laptop was running on the installed kernel 20.04 (as on 18.04), this problem with the natural shutdown of the system persisted. The system still could not shut down correctly. What data enthusiasts may need, please let me know.

Hello

At the moment, we managed to find a solution, after disabling the thunderbolt in the BIOS, the laptop itself successfully turns off. It may not be the best solution, but it works well for now.
As for sleep problems, if the lid of the laptop is not closed, then using the touchpad / keyboard, it wakes up without problems. If the lid is closed, then after opening through the touchpad / keyboard - it does not wake up, but if you connect the mouse, then after a short pause it wakes up.

People have such problems very often on the forums, I hope they can be solved in a more correct way.
