apport 103 upgrade - exited with this error during software update of apport

After attempting to upgrade to the Hardy Kernel from Gutsy a large number of programs had to be updated. I did this because I wanted to make the sleep function work on my MacBook. All of the upgrades worked except for the apport upgrade, which generated this python error.
