Bug Description

After wake up after suspending my notebook I lost my screen with white and black bars on it!

Technic:
with the newest Kernel für Ubuntu 20.04:
Ubuntu 20.04 mit Kernel 5.13.0-27-generic

Notebook Sony Vaio with graphics driver:
X.Org-X-Server (Nouveau)

Now, with the older kernel (second kernel)
uname -r
5.11.0-46-generic
all be alright

So I currently have no problems, but I would like to point out problems with the kernel 5.13.0-27-generic and suspend.

Thank you!

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1958679/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.

I just ran the following command in the terminal for data that maybe could help you:
apport-collect 1958679

Before that, I restarted my notebook with the problem kernel 5.13.0-27, which blocks the screen with white and black bars after suspending it.

But now I can no longer use the suspend command without errors, so after a waiting period I will switch off my notebook to protect it.
I have no idea if it will help if I give you this grace period for data exchange.

Dear Ubuntu-Helpers!

The reason for my error message was the concern for the users like me which ones cannot afford the modernest computers!

Why?
My concern was that all users of a computer like my computer Vaio with an Nvidia graphics card, supported by the graphics driver X.Org-X-Server (Nouveau) starting from problem kernels 5.13.0-27-generic on, will have problems in all future with such important functions like the suspend mode :-(

Contrary to expectations, this has now obsolet with the latest kernel, because Suspend with the latest kernel 5.13.0-28-generic is now working properly again!

Thank you very much and greetings

Elmar

Addendum:
Wow, with the new kernel 5.13.0-28-generic I can finally do without a boot option again, which always made sure that I didn't lose the keyboard at startup.

Before the new kernel:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash i8042.dumbkbd"

Finally with the kernel 5.13.0-28-generic:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash"

I am happy!

PS: Sorry, happy too early, because after the first suspend the keyboard is gone again!
