Bug Description

this is additional information related to [Bug 1955049] about amdgpu kernel errors.
The test of kernel 5.16.0-051600rc8drmtip20220105-generic is quite promising: This is the first crash after several hours of use. So this report is related to Bug 1955049.
This report is created using SSH connection to the machine because the GUI did not "come back" after the crash. A subsequent reboot will be conducted soon after submitting this report.

It appears you've reported roughly the same issue in 7 different bugs now. Maybe consider swapping graphics card? Nobody else seems to be reporting the problem so there's a chance it is specific to your hardware.

Also,

* Mainline kernels are not officially supported, they are only provided for testing.

* Ubuntu 21.04 is soon about to reach end-of-life (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases).

So please try installing Ubuntu 21.10 instead (https://ubuntu.com/download/desktop) and don't change the kernel. Then tell us if the same bug still occurs.

Oh actually maybe avoid Ubuntu 21.10 for the moment because of regression bug 1956401. You might want to try Ubuntu 22.04 (preview) though. It is fully functional already.
