Bug Description
Binary package hint: kernel-package
With the x86 architecture merge, the structure of the kernel header tree changed. The items are missing:
* include/asm should be a link to asm-x86
* the arch/Makefile_* should be included
without these the resulting header package does not work for building kernel modules at all.
The bug is present in all versions of kernel-package from both ubuntu and debian. There are some related bugs logged, about nvidia kernel modules not building as well as vmware modules not building.

Same problem with 2.6.25 under hardy.
Is there an alternative to using kernel-package 11.001 so that I can successfully build a linux-headers package. I am able to build the nvidia kernel module, but cannot but the lirc modules?
