Bug Description

This page:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs

contains this link:

http://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/PACKAGENAME/+filebug?no-redirect

which if you replace PACKAGENAME with:

linux-image-5.11.0-41-generic

Leads nowhere useful. Perhaps this part of the wiki could be improved to deal with how to report a bug manually when the package name is apparently not recognized by this link??

Also, I had to create a launchpad account, which then failed to successfully log me in when pushing the "Login to edit this page" link, timing out instead.

Oh, also the "Report a bug" link at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-docs/+bug/1956524 just takes you back to the above referenced wiki page, so it's a bit of a circular path when trying to report a bug about the bug page.

Thanks for your report. It seems like you didn't read the wiki page carefully enough, though.

Right after the link it says:

"where PACKAGENAME is the name of the source package about which you want to file the bug report."

linux-image-5.11.0-41-generic is a binary package, not a source package. Its source package is "linux", so this URL:

http://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+filebug?no-redirect

should work.

Your case is not an example of that. ;) But in the very same section of the wiki page as where you found the above link, there is already a link to submit a bug without specifying the source package. (That's an option which should be avoided as far as possible.)

Hopefully that was just a temporary problem. Maybe because the account was just created.

?? That's the URL to this bug report.

Please let us know if the above explanation is sufficient, or if you still see a need for clarification.
