Hardy Firefox R-Kiosk - web only appliance

Creating a web only appliance.

Issue: Firefox 3.0b* is currently accessible as the only Firefox version in Hardy repositories. The secondary problem is that R-kiosk is not available for Firefox 2. Confirming that an install of these packages on ubuntu-7.10-i386-server works properly. Trying to install Firefox 2 from Gutsy repositories worked, but the R-kiosk plug in failed miserably.

Current solution:

apt-get xorg

wget http://launchpadlibrarian.net/12198262/firefox-2_2.0.0.12+2nobinonly+2-0ubuntu3_i386.deb
dpkg -i firefox-2_2.0.0.12+2nobinonly+2-0ubuntu3_i386.deb ## shows list of dependancies
apt-get install libpango1.0-0
apt-get -f install ## yes to dependencies
dpkg -i firefox-2_2.0.0.12+2nobinonly+2-0ubuntu3_i386.deb

startx
# in the x session shell
cd /usr/bin/
./firefox-2

Finally https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1659

Of course the firefox-2 package should be in hardy repositories since 3.0b* is still in production/beta.

Reported to Adam Conrad (OSA), package 'firefox-2' should be made available in the repositories soon and will be installable through aptitude/synaptic.

rkiosk should now be working on firefox 3 ... can you try please? if
it doesn't work, please disable compatibility check as described on
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MozillaTeam/Firefox3Extensions

... and if rkiosk has a free license, please fill it into the
appropriate table on that page, so we can consider to package it for
hardy.
