Bug Description

Binary package hint: pidgin

Ubuntu 7.10

K Desktop environment release 3.5.8

Source Package 2.6.22-14-386

ii pidgin 1:2.2.1-1ubuntu4.1 graphical multi-protocol instant messaging client for X

When buddy list option is selected, the buddies I have contact with are supposed to appear in the list whether or not they are online. The buddy list window was blank instead, and i had no way to refresh it. I tried stopping and restarting pidgin but it still would not bring up the list.

Thanks for your report. If I'm understanding you corrently, you just need to make sure Buddies -> Show -> Offline Buddies is selected. Does that solve your problem?

Negative. Offline buddies was already selected. I think it may have been
caused by a multitasking error. The application was loading when my
browser was trying to load at the same time. I haven't tried to
duplicate the error yet, but I am fairly sure that it was tied into it.

are you using mobile broadband? i was using t-mobile broadband and had to change my plan from web n walk to web n walk plus before it would display properly, probably to do with ports being blocked

At the time the bug was noted I was not. I am still experiencing an
error with it. In order for me to see who is online when I load the
program, I have to go to my accounts, disable my account and re-enable
it. That resets the account and suddenly everyone online shows up.
