Screen stays black after going idle or waking up from suspend on AMD laptop

Upon upgrading to the latest HWE edge kernel (from 5.11 to 5.13) on 20.04, I found that my screen won't work if my laptop goes idle (screen off) or wakes up from suspend. Reverting to 5.11 resolves this for me.

This seems to be a common issue across many distributions and appears to have been fixed in 5.14.

I'm using a ThinkPad P14s AMD Gen 1 with Ryzen 7 4750u (integrated graphics).

Problem persists with linux-image-generic-hwe-20.04-edge 5.13.0.22.22~20.04.9 from focal-proposed.

Bug persists in latest update (5.13.0-23-generic)

Same here, I have a Lenovo X13, also with an AMD 4750U. Screen shows random noise after suspend/resume with 5.13 kernel. Reverting back to 5.11 kernels removes the problem. I also installed a 5.15 kernel and here, things are also working again.

Unfortunately, the 5.15 kernel is no option for me as Virtualbox DKMS doesn't compile the drivers (due to newer glibc used in the 5.15 kernel compared to Ubuntu 20.04)
