Openbox by default attempts to start applications that have appropriate desktop files in /etc/xdg/autostart. It does this by executing xdg-autostart if it is present, and if not then openbox-xdg-autostart. xdg-autostart is in package obsession which is a recommended package for openbox. openbox-xdg-autostart is in package openbox itself, but it fails unless package python3-xdg is installed. The failure is relatively silent unless openbox-xdg-autostart is run separately on the command line. python3-xdg should probably be a suggested package, or perhaps more strongly recommended, or perhaps even an either/or with obsession since one of them is required for xdg autostart files to work. This isn't exactly the end of the world since many xdg autostart applications won't start for Openbox anyway. The openbox-session manpage also doesn't mention that desktop files from /etc/xdg/autostart will be run, so perhaps not many people will be surprised when they don't
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please execute the following command only once, as it will automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal:

When reporting bugs in the future please use apport by using 'ubuntu-bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this functionality at https:/ /wiki.ubuntu. com/ReportingBu gs.
No release details etc have been provided; we'll get these once apport-collect has run. Please return the status to "New" once apport-collect has been successfully run.
