Bug Description

Stardict's 'scan' function, which takes a word on a page and sends it to the dictionary, does not seem to work with the way Firefox 3 Beta 3 handles text, as nothing gets scanned.

I have tested this with Chinese text mainly, but also with western text and it will not work. Further testing using the Babylon Translator tool for windows proved my theory as it too will not work well with Firefox 3 Beta 3, and when a page is zoomed it scans text from a different area of the page to that which the mouse is on, thus making it unusable.

Bug confirmed with stardict 3.0.1.

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 or 9.04?

Rumor has it that this symptom is fixed in the latest stardict beta (3.0.2). I can't find a tarball for Linux, however.
