Bug Description

Used synaptic package manager to install linux-oem-20.04d kernel. After reboot login worked fine, but then desktop reverted to default background and scale factor of 1 instead of 2. (the new installation dialog appeared on desktop after login).
Nautilus was very sluggish to open. Normal /home was not shown.

Rebooted and removed Linus-oem-20.04d and everything is fine.

I use a ZFS zpool mirror for my /home (since 16.04 actually). I had great luck using the linux-oem-5.10 kernel in the past, but this time the oem kernel is behaving differently.

I am happy to stay on standard Ubuntu kernel, but just wanted to report this behavior.

lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS

linux-oem-20.04d

expected to upgrade kernel while leaving desktop and preferences intact

instead my /home was not recognized and desktop reverted to that of a new installation
