Wayland login option is missing after update from Hirsute to Impish

Bug Description

After upgrade from Hirsute to Impish everything seems to be working but the icon on lower right login screen is not there and I'm on X11 and can't switch to Wayland.

What you expected to happen: I expected the settings icon to change from x11 to wayland to be there

I made wayland work and the option return by editing /etc/default/grub and adding

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="nvidia-drm.modeset=1"

I still can't get this to work.
Tried the modeset in /etc/default/grub... it just gets to a blank screen.
I don't have an integrated GPU, so it's using the nvidia.

After you edit /etc/default/grub you also need to run:

  sudo update-grub
