IMDb search for data freezes

After the fix suggested by Michael, see bug report https://bugs.launchpad.net/griffith/+bug/1903538, I was thrilled that Griffith works again. But 10 days ago I got a new problem.

Griffith starts well, I can search for a new film with the IMDB-Plugin. The relevant movies are shown in the "Found Result" list. A film can be chosen to get data for the new film. But then while the "Fetching data" windows opened and asks to "Wait a moment" the progress bar freezes after some seconds and nothing visible happens afterwards.
I can still cancel the process and close the app afterwards but no new data was fetched.

Any help would be much appreciated!
