miked, can you please run

sudo /etc/init.d/cupsys start

If the Apport crash reporting wizard pops up, go through it to report the crash.

Setting to Incomple, see Comment #10 and #11. Till Kamppeter has this bug been already been fixed?

Thomas, the bug did not get fixed officially, but as it is very old and no similar complaints showed up again, the general development of CUPS probably eliminated the cause of the problem.

I am closing this bug report now as it is very old. If anyone still has the problem described here, please reopen the bug report.
