Bug Description

The 'Share your desktop' documentation states that after the 'vino' package is installed 'Screen Sharing' should become visible in the 'Sharing' options in 'Ubuntu Settings'.

However after installing the 'vino' package the 'Screen Sharing' option does not become available.

Instead the package 'gnome-remote-desktop' needs to be installed to enable 'Screen Sharing'.

Output of 'lsb_release -rd':
Description: Ubuntu 21.04
Release: 21.04

Thanks for your report.

You are right, and this will be corrected in the docs for 21.10. You can see it corrected in this preliminary publication:

https://help.ubuntu.com/21.10/ubuntu-help/sharing-desktop.html

affects: ubuntu-docs (Ubuntu) → gnome-user-docs (Ubuntu)
