Bug Description

Can we possibly get a nicer (and standard) thunderbird icon. Why is the icon for
thunderbird in Ubuntu different than what everyone else uses. The icon for the
Thunderbird Profile Manager is also really ugly.

A nice thunderbird icon can be found in many places. My favorite is the one
found in the gPerfection2 icon theme found at:

I agree, Ubuntu should use the standard icons for Thunderbird and Firefox, i.e.:

We can't use the standard icons, due to trademark issues. I have, however, gotten some lovely artwork donated to us by Andy Fitzsimon, and will be rebranding Thunderbird shortly.

I'm using dapper 20060520.
The Thunderbird icon has changed to a new one in mozilla-thunderbird 1.5.0.2-0ubuntu1.
Is this the icon donated by Andy Fitzsimon?

Can we close this bug?

As of 1.5.0.2-0ubuntu2, I'm using Andy's icons in a way that seems to integrate quite nicely and not be "ugly", so I'm closing this.
