entering grub and getting to the grub command prompt should not be the same key

When you need to see the grub menu you press ESC.

Once you are at the grub menu pressing ESC puts you into the grub command prompt.

This is a horrible user experience and often lands users directly into the grub command prompt with no idea how to get back to the grub menu.
