Linux ubuntu 2.6.24-8-generic #1 SMP Thu Feb 14 20:40:45 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux
GNOME 2.21.91
I have some kind of HP keyboard (model number: KU-0133).
Connected via USB to a MSI P35 Neo (BIOS 1.6) motherboard.
Sometimes my keyboard goes bananas.
Like before, it suddenly started repeating keypress up all the time. So it was impossible to type anything, open any program from the menu, and alt+F2 and ctrl+alt+backspace and stuff like that didn't work.
Now I played this game, and suddenly it went crazy again, and press key <- left all the time.
When I hold down a key, it only make 1 character, it don't repeat it. (I guess the repeat left-key interrupts).
Makes it impossible to type anything. Makes it impossible to use menus.
Only thing I can do is press the power button on the computer, so it asks me me logout, lock screen, change user, restart, shutdown, etc.
If I press "logout" this problem gets fixed.
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, because your description does not yet have enough information.
1. Is your keyboard detected correctly? If not, attach the output of lsusb > lsusb.log and look at https:/ /wiki.ubuntu. com/DebuggingHa rdwareDetection
2. Does this occur always or only when playing 'that' game? Are you able to reproduce this problem at will?
Please include the following additional information, if you have not already done so (pay attention to lspci's additional options), as required by the Ubuntu Kernel Team:
3. Please run the command "dmesg > dmesg.log" after a fresh boot and attach the resulting file "dmesg.log" to this bug report.
4. Please run the command "sudo lspci -vvnn > lspci-vvnn.log" and attach the resulting file "lspci-vvnn.log" to this bug report.
For your reference, the full description of procedures for kernel-related bug reports is available at http:// wiki.ubuntu. com/KernelTeamB ugPolicies. Thanks in advance!
