Bug Description

Hi,

The bundled nmap-mac-prefixes dates back to 2019:

| # $Id: nmap-mac-prefixes 37638 2019-05-28 21:35:45Z dmiller $ generated with make-mac-prefixes.pl
| # Original data comes from http://standards.ieee.org/regauth/oui/oui.txt
| # These values are known as Organizationally Unique Identifiers (OUIs)
| # See http://standards.ieee.org/faqs/OUI.html
| # We have added a few unregistered OUIs at the end.

Think we could automatically update this when packaging nmap?

Maybe get it from http://standards-oui.ieee.org/oui/oui.txt (the base 16 lines).

Something like this would generate the file in a format nmap understands:

| grep 'base 16' oui.txt | sed -e 's/\s*(base 16)\s*/ /g' | sudo tee /usr/share/nmap/nmap-mac-prefixes

Hi Haw,

Thanks for taking the time to file a bug and help make things better.

As I see it, the nmap package is in sync with Debian and would be great if we can keep it that way. Whilst I have forwarded this bug to the Debian's package maintainer, I'd like to know if you could please file this bug in the Debian BTS instead?

This looks like a good wishlist bug(?) and having it filed in BTS shall help and this way, it won't be accidentally forgotten, either.

Let me know what do you think? TIA! \o/

Actually, this has already been fixed via 7.91+dfsg1+really7.80+dfsg1-2. And the same is present in Impish.
