Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-control-
Using hardy, I noticed that Ctrl+character shortcuts don't work as expected when multiple keyboard layouts are selected in gnome-keyboard-
Here is how to reproduce the problem with France and USA layouts:
- Add France/default variant and USA/default variant layouts
- Select France as default
- Launch gnome-terminal and see that Ctrl+Shift+A and Ctrl+Shift+Q both close the terminal, while only Ctrl+Shift+Q should do it.
Note that A and Q are inversed in France and USA layouts.
Same with Z and W, Ctrl+Shift+W being used for closing a tab.
You can experience a similar problem in FileZilla, where Ctrl+A should "select All", but actually behaves like Ctrl+Q, closing the application.
There may be other things mixed up between the two layouts beyond the Ctrl+character shortcuts.
Thanks for the bug report. This particular bug has already been reported, but feel free to report any other bugs you find.
