The forward button never gets clickable in part 2 of the "Create VPN Connection wizard" even though information in all the required fields are entered.

I have the same problem.
nm-applet 0.6.6 after I fill all the fields in the openvpn wizard, the forward button is still not enabled.

I have found the problem. The ca, cert and key files were only readable by root. As soon as I've changed the permissions on these files, the "forward" button was enabled.

Are you sure this is a bug and not a feature? ;)
You have to give all the necessary information (certificates etc.) to make the forward button clickable. So in the screenshot above, it is normal that the button is unclickable, as there is no information given.

There's been extensive changes to VPN support in NM since this bug was opened, closing as Fix Released since I'm pretty certain things are well covered. Please don't hesitate to file a new bug if you think this is not the case.
