Bug Description

Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy latest

When I press a key, hold it and click with the mouse while doing that the key will get repeated and repeated. The only way to stop it is to restart the x-server which isn't very easy because shortcuts won't work and clicks just sometimes.

First noticed while gaming (you press a singel key very long and click with your mouse) later confirmed by testing in gedit.
Just press "w", for example, hold it and make a few clicks with your mouse.

This bug is somehow critical because it's not easy to save any document.
The bug only appears when compiz is running. So I think it's a bug in compiz.

This bug occurs only if compiz is activated, but the effect remains if compiz is killed (I used user switch appelt to login as another user and killed compiz from the console) or replaced by metacity ($ DISPLAY=:0.0 metacity --replace &). Seems as Xorg sends the last key without a break to the active window, because only the two processes have higher CPU usage.
So im not sure wether it's a bug in compiz or Xorg.
I also tried to disable all plugins in ccsm, but the bug still appears

As noted in https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/194214, this bug is not Compiz-specific in any way.
